The local neighborhoods and kids are especially ready for a fresh start to a new academic year. You can feel the excitement and anticipation all around the city. Understanding the need for children to be equipped with the tools they need and to set them up for success, City Sports donated school supplies to over 200 children in the city.
Crayola markers, colored pencils, crayons, glue sticks, scissors, erasers, rulers, folders, notebooks, loose-leaf paper, pencil cases, sharpeners and pencils were provided for each child.
We worked with four Chicago wards (Ward #3 – Alderman Pat Dowell, Ward #10 – Alderman Susan Sadlowski Garza, Ward #21 Alderman Howard Bookins, and Ward #37 - Alderman Emma Mitts) to help distribute the much-needed school supplies.
We were also a financial sponsor for Alderman Marshun Tolbert and the 2nd Ward’s Back 2 School Block Party. We love being a part of these communities and love to help ensure that children have everything they need to start the year off eager and ready to learn.
